Terms of Service

  • • Be a decent human — don't abuse the service or other users
  • • You own your data — we just store and process it for you
  • • Pay for what you use — trials are free, then it's $15/mo or $144/yr
  • • We can update these terms — we'll let you know when we do

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using WinLog ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree to these Terms, please don't use WinLog.

WinLog is operated by WinLog ("we", "us", "our"). The Service is available to users who are at least 18 years old.

2. Description of Service

WinLog is a career documentation tool that helps you capture and organize your professional accomplishments ("wins"). The Service includes:

  • Win logging via web interface and Slack integration
  • AI-powered text enhancement and summary generation
  • Passive capture of potential wins from Slack messages
  • Export functionality for reviews, 1:1s, and other purposes
  • Team features for managers (on Team plan)

3. Account Registration

To use WinLog, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Promptly update any changes to your information
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

You may not create accounts for others or transfer your account to another person.

4. Pricing & Payment

Free Trial

New users receive a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card is required to start a trial.

Subscription Plans

After your trial, continued access requires a paid subscription:

  • PRO Monthly: $15 per month
  • PRO Annual: $144 per year ($12/month)
  • Team: $10 per user/month (or $8/user/month annually), minimum 3 seats

Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually). Payments are processed through Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method automatically.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. Upon cancellation:

  • You retain access until the end of your current billing period
  • Your data is preserved (but read-only) unless you delete your account
  • No refunds are provided for partial billing periods

Price Changes

We may change our prices with 30 days' notice. Price changes take effect at your next billing cycle.

5. Your Content & Data

Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you submit to WinLog ("Your Content"). This includes win text, summaries, and any other data you create or import.

License to Us

By using WinLog, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service. This includes using AI to enhance your win text and generate summaries. We do not use Your Content to train AI models.

Content Guidelines

You agree not to submit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these guidelines.

6. Slack Integration

If you connect Slack to WinLog:

  • You authorize us to access Slack on your behalf within the scope of permissions granted
  • Passive capture only monitors channels you explicitly enable
  • We do not store full message content, only 500-character snippets for candidate processing
  • You can revoke Slack access at any time through Settings

Your use of the Slack integration is also subject to Slack's Terms of Service.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • ❌ Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • ❌ Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other accounts
  • ❌ Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure
  • ❌ Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited messages
  • ❌ Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
  • ❌ Use automated tools to access the Service without permission
  • ❌ Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
  • ❌ Impersonate another person or entity

8. Intellectual Property

WinLog and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by WinLog and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Our name, logo, and product names are trademarks of WinLog. You may not use these without our prior written consent.

9. Third-Party Services

WinLog integrates with third-party services including Slack, OpenAI, Stripe, and Clerk. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

AI-generated content (including polished win text and summaries) is provided for your convenience. You should review and verify AI output before using it in professional contexts.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WINLOG SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three (3) months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WinLog and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service immediately ceases
  • You may request a data export before account deletion
  • Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We'll provide notice of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Scotland.
